Delhi, January 7, 2025 — The Delhi Police’s West District team has cracked a case of burglary at a bike showroom in Naraina, leading to the arrest of an employee, Hasan Khan, aged 20. Hasan, dissatisfied with the management’s refusal to grant him a salary hike, meticulously planned and executed the crime. The police have successfully recovered ₹5 lakh in cash and two high-end cameras stolen during the incident.
The burglary took place on the night of December 31, 2024, at a bike showroom where approximately ₹6 lakh in cash and various electronics were stolen. The management reported the incident to the Naraina Police Station, prompting the formation of a dedicated investigation team. Led by Inspector Satish Kumar, SHO Naraina, and guided by ACP Maya Puri, Shri Arun Sharma, the team worked tirelessly, sifting through over 100 CCTV camera feeds and conducting in-depth interrogations of showroom staff.
The investigation narrowed its focus on Hasan Khan, a technical expert employed at the showroom for over a year. His actions, including intentionally turning off the showroom lights on the night of the burglary and wearing a helmet to evade identification, raised suspicion. Upon apprehension, Hasan confessed to the crime. The stolen cash and cameras were recovered from his possession.
During interrogation, Hasan revealed his motive: frustration over the management’s refusal to increase his salary. Coming from a modest background in Sartaj Nagar, Ludhiana, Punjab, Hasan is the son of a laborer and a homemaker. Despite his technical skills, financial discontent drove him to take the drastic step.
The Delhi Police lauded the investigative team comprising Sub-Inspector Brajesh Patel, Head Constables Ajay and Sagar Mal, for their swift and thorough efforts in solving the case. Their meticulous approach, combining technical surveillance and traditional investigative methods, ensured the case was cracked promptly.
